Simpler than you might think

The process is straightforward.
The difference is in the details.

For those who have never flown privately before, the process can seem opaque or complicated. It is neither. In practice it is considerably simpler than commercial aviation: no check-in counters, no lengthy security lines, no shared waiting areas.

The real difference lies in how the flight is organised from the outset. This guide explains the complete process — from the first inquiry through to arrival at your destination — in the specific context of private aviation in Argentina.

The complete process

From first contact to landing — seven steps

01
Inquiry and request

The client describes the trip they need: origin, destination, preferred date, number of passengers and approximate departure time. No technical knowledge of aviation is required. With this information, Argentina Fly has everything needed to begin sourcing options.

02
Quote and proposal

Argentina Fly assesses available aircraft within its network of certified operators, reviews departure and arrival airports, availability for the requested date, and operational conditions. A proposal is presented with the recommended aircraft, price in USD, payment terms and operational conditions. There is no commitment until the client accepts.

03
Confirmation and payment

The client accepts the proposal and pays a 30% deposit to confirm the booking. If the flight is within the following 20 days, full payment is required at the time of confirmation. The reservation is secured once payment is processed.

04
Pre-flight coordination

In the days before the flight, schedules are confirmed and access instructions for the departure airport are communicated. Each passenger is informed of the documentation they need to have available. For international flights, permits and customs formalities are coordinated in advance.

05
At the airport

The recommended arrival time is 15 minutes before departure for domestic flights, and 30 minutes for international flights. There are no check-in counters or extended security procedures. The Argentina Fly team meets passengers on arrival and coordinates direct airside access to the aircraft.

06
On board

The cabin is private for your group. On-board service includes snacks and drinks; personalised catering can be arranged in advance. During the flight you can work, hold meetings, rest or simply enjoy the journey. No aisle interruptions, no shared cabin.

07
Arrival and baggage

The aircraft lands at the agreed airport. Baggage handling is direct: no conveyor belt, no waiting. On international flights, Argentina Fly coordinates assistance with immigration and customs formalities at the destination.

Passenger requirements

What documents you need

Documentation requirements for private flights in Argentina are similar to those for commercial aviation, with some specific considerations depending on the type of flight.

Domestic flights
  • Valid Argentine national ID (DNI) or passport for foreign nationals
  • Each passenger's details (full name, date of birth)
  • Notarised authorisation if a minor is travelling without both parents
  • Prior declaration if travelling with pets (confirm at time of booking)
International flights
  • Valid passport with at least 6 months remaining validity
  • Destination visas where required
  • Health or immigration documentation as required by destination and current regulations
  • Customs declaration forms where applicable

Argentina Fly verifies each passenger's requirements before the flight and communicates any additional documentation needed well in advance.

Available fleet

Available aircraft categories

The aircraft assigned to each flight depends on the route, number of passengers and budget. These are the five operational categories Argentina Fly works with.

Piston aircraft for private flights in Argentina
Piston
Twin-engine piston
Up to 9 passengers

The most accessible option within private aviation. Ideal for short and medium-distance flights, with the operational advantage of being able to operate on grass, dirt and asphalt runways — opening access to rural airstrips, estancias and destinations outside the commercial airport network.

Typical use: transfers to estancias, hunting and fishing trips to destinations without paved runways, short regional flights.

King Air turboprop for private flights in Argentina
Turboprop
Turboprop & advanced twin
Up to 19 passengers

Combines the operational versatility of piston aircraft with higher speed, cruise altitude and passenger capacity. Can operate on unpaved runways while maintaining a superior level of comfort and performance. Particularly suitable for larger groups or itineraries with multiple stops at remote destinations.

Typical use: hunting and fishing groups, personnel transfers to mining or agribusiness areas, regional flights with more than 6 passengers.

Phenom 100 light executive jet
Light jet
Executive light jet
4 to 6 passengers

Cruises at higher altitudes than turboprops, at greater speed and with a pressurised air-conditioned cabin. Designed for small groups that prioritise time efficiency and comfort. Suitable for domestic flights and short-haul international flights within the Southern Cone.

Typical use: business travel, weekend getaways, regional executive transfers.

Learjet 60 midsize jet for executive flights
Midsize jet
Midsize executive jet
Up to 8 passengers

Greater range, wider cabin and better capacity-to-distance ratio than the light jet. Enables long-distance flights within South America and intercontinental flights with a technical stop. Standing or semi-standing cabin depending on the model, with more luggage space.

Typical use: flights to Brazil, Chile, Peru, Uruguay and Caribbean destinations; executive delegations and high-frequency international transfers.

Challenger 605 long-range intercontinental jet
Long range
Heavy & ultra-long range jet
Up to 14 passengers

High-cabin aircraft, rest areas, entertainment systems and onboard connectivity. Intercontinental range without stops or with minimal ones. The highest level available in private aviation: designed for long-haul flights with the greatest level of comfort and cabin privacy.

Typical use: flights to Europe and North America, high-level corporate delegations, long-distance travel.

The availability of each aircraft is subject to operational status at the time of request. See full fleet

Frequently asked questions

Questions about how a private
flight works in Argentina

How far in advance should I book a private flight?

We recommend requesting at least 24 to 48 hours in advance to secure aircraft availability. During peak seasons — Patagonian winter, Punta del Este season, long weekends — the more lead time you have, the more options will be available. In some cases same-day or next-day flights can be arranged; contact us directly to check.

How early do I need to arrive at the airport?

The recommended arrival time is 15 minutes before departure for domestic flights, and 30 minutes for international flights. There are no conventional check-in desks or long security queues. The Argentina Fly team meets passengers on arrival and coordinates direct airside access to the aircraft.

What documents do I need for a domestic private flight in Argentina?

A valid Argentine national ID (DNI) or passport for foreign nationals. Argentina Fly requests each passenger's details in advance to handle the operational documentation. For international flights, a valid passport and the relevant destination visas are required.

Can I change the departure time after confirming the flight?

Schedule changes are possible subject to aircraft and crew availability. Changes made well in advance typically do not incur additional costs. Last-minute changes may involve operational costs. Each case is assessed individually and the client is informed before any adjustment is confirmed.

Are there luggage restrictions on a private flight?

Baggage allowance depends on the aircraft category. Light and midsize jets have limited hold space; long-range jets offer more capacity. On piston or turboprop aircraft serving remote destinations, total baggage weight has a greater operational impact. We recommend asking about the specific limit when requesting your quote.

Can I travel with pets?

Yes, in most cases pets are welcome on board, subject to the aircraft and operator conditions. Pets typically travel in the cabin rather than the hold. This must be declared at the time of request so we can confirm compatibility with the assigned aircraft.

Which airports serve private flights in Buenos Aires?

Argentina Fly's operational base is San Fernando International Airport (FDO), north of Greater Buenos Aires. Operations from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) or Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) are also possible, though these may require aircraft repositioning and an additional cost.

How is payment handled for a private flight?

Once the proposal is accepted, a 30% deposit is required to confirm the booking. If the flight is within the following 20 days, full payment is required at confirmation. Rates are quoted in US dollars (USD). Payment details are coordinated directly with the Argentina Fly team.
