Villa Dolores is the gateway to the Valle de Traslasierra on the western slope of the Sierras de los Comechingones (Córdoba): a mountain corridor of warm, dry microclimate, historic olive groves and estancias between ravines. The local airport (VDR / SAOD) connects Buenos Aires with one of Córdoba's less crowded valleys and most rural in character.

Villa Dolores Airport (VDR / SAOD) receives light jets and turboprops. From San Fernando (FDO), about 671 km is covered in 1 h 5 min to 1 h 25 min versus more than eight hours by road. With no scheduled service to the valley, private flight enables same-day hill trips with return to Buenos Aires.
Year-round destination. Summer (December–March) for outdoor activity and full rivers. Autumn (March–May) with fewer visitors and ideal trekking conditions. Big-game season on estancias between May and August.
