General Ameghino is a Buenos Aires town in the northwest irrigation-belt region, where the humid pampa supports high-yield farming and cattle. With no scheduled commercial air service, private aviation is the standard access for field management and hunting.
Big and small game on private estancias —wild boar, hare and partridge among the most requested species— plus tours of irrigated soya and maize fields and visits to dairies and cattle establishments. Open pampean landscapes and waterfowl on wetlands and irrigation channels.
Rural estancias with cabins and farmhouses accept guests by advance booking. Lincoln, a few kilometres away, has hotels for those preferring an urban base.
Field asado with estate beef, artisanal charcuterie and farm cheeses. Rural establishments serve seasonal produce and wines from Mendoza bodegas.
Ameghino airfield (AMG) has no regular commercial lines. From San Fernando (FDO), about 359 km is covered in 1 h 20 min to 1 h 45 min depending on aircraft, with direct runway access and short transfers to the fields.
Year-round destination. Hunting season March to August. Spring (September–November) with mild weather for outdoor tours; summer focused on agribusiness management.
