The Regional Jesuit Circuit links Apóstoles with the ruins of San Ignacio Miní, one of the best preserved mission complexes in the Americas. Yerba mate plantation tours cover harvest, drying and tastings at century-old establishments. Less than 100 km away, Saltos del Moconá —parallel falls on the Uruguay River— can be visited by boat when river flow allows. Sport fishing on the Uruguay for dorado, surubí and pacú.

Yerba mate estancias and inns in forest settings accept guests by reservation. Fishing lodges on the Uruguay operate privately. Local agribusiness establishments offer longer stays with plantation access.

Regional cooking with mandioca, chipá, mbejú and gaúcho-style grilled meats. Tereré and locally harvested mate are part of any visit. Country restaurants and pulperías work with local produce and Mendoza wines or craft beers from the Littoral.

Why fly private

Apóstoles airfield (APO) accepts private aircraft without commercial connections via Posadas. From San Fernando (FDO), about 776 km is covered in 1 h 10 min to 1 h 35 min, with short transfers to lodges and estancias.

Best time to visit

Austral spring and autumn (September–November and March–May) with moderate temperatures. Yerba mate harvest July to October. Saltos del Moconá more accessible in dry season (May–October), depending on river level.
