The direct answer

There is no single price.
There are five variables.

The price of a private flight is calculated based on the distance to cover and the estimated flight time, to which are added the specific operating costs of each mission: aircraft type, airport fees, international expenses when applicable, repositioning if necessary and any additional service required by the client.

Each operation is unique. There is no fixed rate per route: the final price results from the combination of all these variables. This guide breaks down each one so you understand what affects the cost before requesting a quote.

The five factors that determine the price

01
Route and distance

The base rate is calculated based on the distance between origin and destination, or the estimated flight time. The greater the distance, the higher the fuel consumption and the longer the operation. The route also determines the type of airspace used and the applicable fees.

02
Aircraft type

It is the factor with the greatest impact on the final price. Each category — piston, turboprop, light jet, midsize jet, long range — has a different operating cost. Aircraft selection must balance capacity, range, comfort and cost according to the trip requirements.

03
Number of passengers

A private flight is chartered for the entire aircraft, not by seat. The price does not change whether one or six passengers travel in the same aircraft. The more travellers share the cost, the more cost-efficient the operation becomes per person.

04
Airports involved

Argentina Fly's operational base is San Fernando International Airport (FDO). Departures from Aeroparque (AEP) or Ezeiza (EZE) are possible but require repositioning the aircraft from its base, which adds an additional cost to the base rate.

05
Lead time and season

Aircraft availability fluctuates with demand. During peak seasons — Patagonian winter, summer season, Punta del Este — supply tightens and confirmation times increase. Booking in advance improves the available options.

Aircraft categories and their typical use

Aircraft choice is the variable with the greatest impact on price. Each category defines a level of comfort, speed, range and capacity. Below, each one is described with its typical uses and the aircraft available in our network.

Piston aircraft for private flights in Argentina
Piston
Twin-engine piston
Up to 6 passengers

The most accessible option within private aviation. Ideal for short and medium-distance flights, with the operational advantage of being able to operate on grass, dirt and asphalt runways — opening access to rural airstrips, estancias and destinations outside the commercial airport network.

Typical use: transfers to estancias, hunting and fishing trips to destinations without paved runways, short regional flights.

King Air turboprop for private flights in Argentina
Turboprop
Turboprop & advanced twin
Up to 19 passengers

Combines the operational versatility of piston aircraft with higher speed, cruise altitude and passenger capacity. Can operate on unpaved runways while maintaining a superior level of comfort and performance. Particularly suitable for larger groups or itineraries with multiple stops at remote destinations.

Typical use: hunting and fishing groups, personnel transfers to mining or agribusiness areas, regional flights with more than 6 passengers.

Phenom 100 light executive jet
Light jet
Executive light jet
4 to 6 passengers

Cruises at higher altitudes than turboprops, at greater speed and with a pressurized air-conditioned cabin. Designed for small groups that prioritize time efficiency and comfort. Suitable for domestic flights and short-haul international flights within the Southern Cone.

Typical use: business travel, weekend getaways, regional executive transfers.

Learjet 60 midsize jet for executive flights
Midsize jet
Midsize executive jet
Up to 9 passengers

Greater range, wider cabin and better capacity-to-distance ratio than the light jet. Enables long-distance flights within South America and intercontinental flights with a technical stop. Standing or semi-standing cabin depending on the model, with more luggage space.

Typical use: flights to Brazil, Chile, Peru, Uruguay and Caribbean destinations; executive delegations and high-frequency international transfers.

Challenger 605 long-range intercontinental jet
Long range
Heavy & ultra-long range jet
Up to 16 passengers

High-cabin aircraft, rest areas, entertainment systems and onboard connectivity. Intercontinental range without stops or with minimal ones. The highest level available in private aviation: designed for long-haul flights with the greatest level of comfort and cabin privacy.

Typical use: flights to Europe and North America, high-level corporate delegations, long-distance luxury travel.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the cost
of a private flight in Argentina

How much does a private flight cost in Argentina?

It depends on the route and distance, the aircraft type, the number of passengers and the airports involved. Rates are expressed in US dollars (USD). Use our online quoter to get indicative rates by aircraft type for your route, or contact us for a personalized quote.

Is a private flight charged per passenger or per aircraft?

Per entire aircraft. The cost is the same regardless of whether one or several passengers travel within the maximum capacity. The more travellers share the flight, the more cost-efficient the price per person.

Does the price include VAT?

No. Quoted rates do not include VAT. Depending on the type of operation, a value-added tax of 10.5% or 21% applies. The applicable VAT is detailed in each quote.

How much does it cost to depart from Aeroparque or Ezeiza instead of San Fernando?

Argentina Fly's operational base is San Fernando International Airport (FDO), north of Greater Buenos Aires. Flights from Aeroparque (AEP) or Ezeiza (EZE) are possible but require repositioning the aircraft from its base, which adds a repositioning cost to the base rate.

What is the difference between booking through a broker and directly with the operator?

A broker is not limited to a single operator's fleet. It has access to a wide network of certified aircraft and operators, can compare options and manage the complete flight coordination. Argentina Fly works exclusively with operators certified by ANAC (National Civil Aviation Administration) under RAAC Part 135 and Part 121 regulations, or their equivalent for foreign operators.

What are empty legs?

They are repositioning flights of aircraft traveling empty to their next destination. They are offered at reduced rates compared to the standard price. Routes and dates are fixed, as they respond to each aircraft's operational schedule. It is a real way to access private aviation at lower cost. See available empty legs.

How far in advance should I book a private flight?

We recommend booking at least 24 to 48 hours in advance to secure aircraft availability. During periods of high demand — Patagonian winter, Punta del Este season, long weekends — lead time makes a real difference in availability and options. The service is available 365 days a year.
